OtoparkPro FAQ

Whatever you're stuck on in the app, the answer is probably here. If not, use the link at the bottom.

General and getting started

What does parking management software do?
It brings the daily operation of a car park onto one chain of records: vehicle entry and the plate, parking duration, the fee from the tariff, collection, the till and reporting. The same information is never entered twice — the plate is recorded once and everything else feeds from that record.
Is OtoparkPro only a plate-tracking app?
No. Plate recognition is one of the features that speed up vehicle entry. OtoparkPro also runs duration and fee calculation, tiered tariffs, subscriber management, the till and expenses, staff permissions, reporting, multiple devices and sites, the TV information screen, and live customer tracking through a QR code.
I forgot my password, what should I do?
On the sign-in screen tap Forgot password and enter your e-mail. If the address is registered, a reset link arrives within a few minutes; if not, check spam and make sure the address is spelled right. The link is single-use and valid for one hour; if it expired, request a new one from the app. Requesting too many in a row triggers a short cooldown — try again in a few minutes.
I signed in but my vehicles and cash are gone. Was my data deleted?
No. You most likely signed in with a different account: each account sees its own business, and your data is still in the previous account's business. Sign out and sign in with that account. When switching accounts on the same device the app asks whether to move local records to the new business or discard them. If unsure, choose cancel — nothing changes.
The same vehicle appears twice, or plates flicker in and out at startup
Duplicates can appear after switching devices or moving accounts; the app cleans them up on every sync. On a staff device the cloud copy can't be removed (only a manager may delete); once a manager syncs from their own device the duplicates are gone for good. No real record is lost — only the exact copy is removed.
I reinstalled the app and the welcome tour / coach marks came back — or never showed
The tour is shown once, on first install; it never returns on an update. Deleting and reinstalling resets the device flag, so you'll see it again — that's normal. With an account signed in, the tour may wait a few seconds until the first sync finishes. If you tapped Sign in on the welcome screen, the tour is postponed and appears when you return to the panel.

Vehicle entry, plates and receipts

The plate wasn't recognised, what now?
Hold the camera parallel to the plate and let the plate fill the frame; shadow and glare break the read. If it still fails, type it from Plate not read? Enter manually on the panel — spacing does not matter. Reading happens on the device; no internet is needed. Turkish plates never contain Q, W or X; an entry with those is rejected. Free form is accepted for foreign plates. Note: some frames are shared to improve reading quality; you can turn that off under Settings → App → Photos of departed vehicles.
I denied the camera permission by mistake and plates aren't read. What now?
The phone asks for camera permission only once; after a refusal the app cannot ask again. iPhone/iPad: Settings → OtoparkPro → Camera, turn it on (the Open Settings button in the app's notice takes you straight there). Android: Settings → Apps → OtoparkPro → Permissions → Camera → Allow. Even with the camera off you can type the plate by hand for entries and exits.
Is a barrier or an ANPR camera required?
Not to get started: a phone or tablet is enough and the plate is read by the phone camera. In return the app does not drive barriers, turnstiles or fixed ANPR cameras, so decide with that in mind if you run such equipment.
Does plate recognition open a barrier?
No. OtoparkPro does not drive barriers, turnstiles or fixed ANPR cameras. It opens the record on the attendant's phone, calculates the duration and the fee, and keeps the till and the reports.
Does the browser version read plates with a camera?
No. There is no camera reading in the web version; on a computer the plate is typed. Reading is the phone's and the tablet's job.
Which countries' plates are supported?
Plate formats for 84 countries are defined (Turkey, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United States and others). For vehicles outside the list, or whose format does not match, there is free form: the app imposes no format and writes what it reads. You pick the country under Settings → Region and language.
Are entry and exit photos kept?
When you read the plate with the camera, that frame is attached to the record; you can also take a photo at exit. The photos sit side by side in the record detail — in a dispute you have the vehicle's condition on entry at hand. You can change retention under Settings → App → Photos of departed vehicles.
The fee was calculated wrong at check-out — can I change it by hand?
The fee follows the active tariff: check the grace minutes, brackets and daily cap in the Tariffs tab. Owners and branch managers can override the amount at check-out (a manager PIN is asked if enabled); staff cannot. Every manual change is written to the audit log.
Can I give the customer a receipt?
Yes. Open the vehicle record and tap Receipt QR; when the customer scans it, they see the entry time and the running fee live. The link belongs to that record only, contains nothing but the plate, and shows the final amount after check-out. No paper needed.

Tariffs, till and credit

How do I set up a tariff — free time, tiers, daily cap?
You edit it from the Tariffs tab: first the free minutes, then tiers by duration, optionally a daily cap and a rule beyond the last tier. Read a tier as “up to this minute, this total”: with 60 min → 50 and 180 min → 80, a car staying 2 hours pays 80. At exit the active tariff is used; you can keep several tariffs, and past records keep their own.
Can I charge different tariffs for different vehicles?
Yes. Define classes such as car, van or motorcycle in Tariffs → Vehicle classes; each class is calculated with its own tiered tariff. The class is picked on the entry confirmation screen, and the same plate remembers its last class. If you define no classes, every vehicle uses a single tariff.
Is the parking fee calculated automatically?
Yes. The arrival time is stamped on the record, the duration runs by itself, and at exit the fee comes from the active tariff: free minutes, tiers, a daily cap and a rate beyond the last tier. Only the owner and a branch manager can change the amount; with the admin PIN enabled a PIN is required and the change appears in the end-of-day report.
Can I let a customer pay later, and how is it tracked?
Yes. If you choose On account at exit, the amount is written to that customer's account as debt and does not enter the till that day — no money was taken. The Customers screen shows how many customers, subscribers and debtors you have; the debtor's row shows what they owe. The customer card lists unpaid jobs and collections in order.
Does the app warn me when a customer with debt arrives?
Yes. When the plate is read, if that vehicle's customer has an unpaid balance you see a warning at entry and at exit. At exit, switch on Outstanding balance and the debt is added to the parking fee and collected in one go; the fee, the discount and the total to collect are listed one under another. The till records two separate lines. The switch is hidden when payment is on account or online; in that case collect from the customer card.
Can I collect by bank transfer?
Yes. Define your IBANs in Settings → Finance accounts → Bank accounts. When you pick Bank transfer at exit, an IBAN QR code is shown to the customer to scan and pay from their bank. In the till, transfers stay apart from cash and card; expanding the row shows how much went to each account.
Can I give a customer a discount?
Yes, in two ways. If you set a percentage or amount discount on the customer card, it is applied automatically at every exit for that customer. For a one-off discount, tap the pencil on the Discount row of the exit screen and type the amount. Both appear under the fee on screen, and the money given up is a separate line in the end-of-day report.
How do I manage monthly subscriber vehicles?
Add the subscriber from the Subscribers tab and link their plate; choose a weekly, monthly or yearly period. A subscriber's vehicle passes at exit without being charged. When the period ends they are not held at the gate — they move to awaiting payment in the list; once you collect, validity moves one period forward and the payment is recorded in the till.

The customer side

Can the customer see the parking charge on their phone?
Yes. Every parking record carries its own QR code; scanning it shows the customer their plate, the arrival time, the elapsed time and the running charge live in their own browser. After the vehicle leaves, the page shows the final amount paid.
Does the customer have to install an app?
No. Nothing is installed on the customer's side and no account, phone number or e-mail is asked for; scanning the code opens the page in a browser.
Can Apple Wallet be used?
Yes, on iPhone the customer can add an Apple Wallet pass from that page, and the charge and status update on it. The Wallet pass is an Apple feature; on Android the counterpart is a checkout notification in browsers that support it.
How does the customer pay by card?
At exit choose Online as the payment method; the QR code and link appear on the phone and, if a TV board is connected, on the board at the same time. The customer scans the code or taps the link and pays with their own card. The moment the payment lands, the exit completes itself; no exit button is drawn before the money arrives. It also works for member and customer payments.
Who gets the money, do you take a commission?
The money goes straight into your own PayTR or Stripe account; it never passes through Tanrikulu Apps, no balance is held and no transaction fee is charged on top. The provider's own processing fee is between you and them. Businesses in Turkey use PayTR, those outside Turkey use Stripe.
Can the customer see other vehicles?
No. The link opens a single record and cannot be guessed; other records, plate lists, revenue and till figures are not on that page. The television board does not show plates or amounts either.
Does this work offline?
No. The receipt QR page and the board read from the cloud, so they need a connection and a synced record. Vehicle entry, exit and the till keep working without internet.

Branches, devices and team

I have several car parks — how do I manage them?
Add them under Settings → Branches; tap the branch name at the top of the panel to pick the active one. Cash, reports and the TV board follow the active branch. Staff can be assigned to a branch. If you enable "Visible to drivers", the branch name, location and free-space count are listed on the driver map; plates and amounts are never shared.
What happens if we use two devices at the same time?
It works, by design: each device sends only its own changes and keeps other records as they come from the cloud, so an exit made on one device is not overwritten by the other. If two devices close the same car at the same moment, the last close's amount stays. Actions taken offline are sent when the connection returns. If two devices enter the same plate at the same time, two records appear; you see both on the panel and cancel one.
Why can't my staff see some screens?
There are three roles: Owner does everything; Branch manager handles daily work + tariffs + reports + deleting records; Staff only vehicle entry/exit and subscriber payments. Staff don't see cash totals, expenses or tariff editing — on purpose: fake expenses and lowered fees are the easiest leaks. The owner changes roles under Settings → Team.
Can I use it on a computer (web)?
Yes. On the booth PC open otoparkpro.tanrikuluapps.com in a browser and sign in with your phone account (email/password or Google). Same business, same data; a car entered on the phone shows on screen within seconds. No new accounts or subscriptions on the web — both come from the phone app; the web opens with the same account. Internet is required. Keyboard shortcuts: F2 manual entry, F3 exit.
How do I show free spaces and the tariff on the booth TV?
Open tanrikuluapps.com/otoparkpro/pano in the TV's browser; a 6-digit code appears. In the app go to Display Board and enter that code — the board links to your active branch. If it won't link, the code may have expired: refresh the page and enter the new one. A cloud account is required for the board.
If one site loses its connection, are the others affected?
No. Each device keeps its own records; entry, exit, fee and till work offline and merge once the line returns. Only the receipt QR page, the television board and the browser version need a connection.
Which branch does the TV board show?
The board locks to the branch that was active when it was paired. To set up a board for another branch, make that branch active and enter the code shown on the television again.

Reports

How do I get the end-of-day report and who can I send it to?
The Cash tab holds the day's summary: revenue, cash/card split, expenses, net, vehicles in and out, and collections per staff member. Use Share to send it to the owner via WhatsApp/SMS; set the evening reminder and the app will nudge you at that time. Staff can't see cash totals.
How reliable is tomorrow's expectation?
It is an average, not a model: whatever weekday tomorrow is, you see the average of the same weekdays in the past. Weather, holidays and campaigns are not included. The screen states how many days the average rests on and shows no number at all below two observations.
How do credit sales and discounts affect income?
Credit is not counted as income; since no money changed hands it sits separately as an open receivable and becomes income on the day it is collected. Discounts are already deducted: the figure shown is net, and the discount given appears as a separate information line.
Can the occupancy ratio go above 100%?
Yes, and the screen does not clamp it. Capacity is a value someone typed in; the car park may genuinely have taken more vehicles. In that case what is wrong may be the capacity record rather than the count, so the ratio is shown as it is. If no capacity has been entered, no ratio is calculated.

Valet

How do I turn on valet service?
Settings → Valet → turn on Valet service. While it is off, nothing valet-related appears anywhere in the app. Once on, vehicle entry gets a parking spot note field, the vehicle card shows valet status, and your team gets a Bring the car button. The sub-setting Let customers request their car adds a “Bring my car” button to the QR page; turn it off and only your team can open requests.
How does the valet fee work?
Settings → Valet → Valet fee. Leave it at 0 and valet is free or already included in your tariff — no extra question appears anywhere. Set it above 0 and a Valet service checkbox appears at vehicle entry; for cars you tick it, the fee is added at exit as a separate line on top of the parking fee, and staff can switch it off when needed. Discounts never apply to the valet fee. Subscribers pay it too, even when their parking fee is 0 — valet is a separate service.
I forgot to tick valet at entry. Can I add it later?
Yes. Open the vehicle card and turn on the Valet service switch in the Valet section; the fee is added automatically at exit. If you ticked it by mistake, turn the same switch off. Once the car has checked out the record becomes read-only, so it can never contradict money you have already collected.
What happens if two attendants claim the same car?
It cannot happen. Whoever taps I’ve got this first wins, and the server decides — not whoever has the faster connection. The other person sees no error, just “Ahmet took it”, and moves on to another car. When the car reaches the handover point, tap Mark as ready. If your shift ends, Release hands the request back to the team — you can only release work you claimed yourself.
Can the customer see the parking spot note?
No. The spot note is visible only to your team and is never sent to the customer's QR page. The customer sees the state of their own car and, when one is defined, the valet fee.
How is the average time in the report calculated?
From the request to 'Mark as ready'. Because marking ready is optional, jobs without a measurable duration count toward the total but not the average, and the screen states how many jobs the average rests on. Revenue is what was actually charged, not the configured fee multiplied by the count.

Subscription, offline and other

The subscription screen appeared — how does the free trial work?
From the moment you open your first vehicle record you get 7 days without a subscription; when it runs out the subscription screen appears. The clock starts with your first job, not with installation — if you installed the app and never added a record, the trial has not started yet. The entitlement is tied to your account: deleting and reinstalling, or moving to a second device, does not reset it. If you already subscribe, tap Restore purchases.
It says "7 days free" but no trial started / I have a subscription but it says subscribe
The free trial is granted once per store account; if you used it before, the button reads Subscribe — that's not a bug. If the screen appears although you subscribe, the device's store account isn't the one that bought it, or there's no connection: sign in with the same account and tap Restore. Payment goes through the store (App Store / Google Play) and cancellation happens there too; after cancelling you keep access until the period ends.
Does the app work without internet?
Yes — daily work runs entirely on the device: entry, exit, fee, cash. When the connection returns it syncs to the cloud by itself. Subscription checks tolerate up to 3 days offline; after a longer outage you need to connect once. If several devices share one account, the last write wins on conflict.
The home-screen widget doesn't update
The widget refreshes every time the app opens and after every record; if the system throttles widget refreshes it can lag a few minutes. If it's still stale, remove and re-add the widget. It shows the active branch — if you switched branches, open the app once.
How do I delete my account and data?
Cloud Account → Delete my account. If you own the business, all cloud records (vehicles, cash, subscribers, staff) are deleted permanently and can't be recovered; export the end-of-day report first. If you're only staff, just your membership is removed and the business data stays. The subscription must be cancelled separately in the store — deleting the account doesn't stop it.
How does my car park appear on the driver map?
Visibility is per branch and optional: you must turn on Show to drivers in Settings and have saved the branch location. When on, drivers see only the name, location and number of free spaces. Plates, revenue and amounts are never shared. You can turn it off at any time; while off you appear nowhere.
