How to set up a parking tariff
The fee is calculated automatically at every check-out from the active tariff. This page explains the four parts of a tariff, how to read it with an example, and how to work with several tariffs.
What a tariff is and where it lives
A tariff is the rule that turns the time a vehicle spent inside into a fee. Open the Tariffs tab at the bottom of the app; owners and branch managers can edit it, staff can only view it. A sample "Standard tariff" is created on first install — overwrite it or add a new one.
The four parts of a tariff
- Free minutes (grace): a vehicle leaving within this time pays nothing. Set to zero to charge from the first minute.
- Brackets: "up to this minute, this total fee" rows. Example: 60 min → 50, 180 min → 80, 720 min → 150. A bracket is a total, not an hourly add-on.
- Daily cap: the maximum charged for one day. Leave it empty and no cap applies.
- "And above" rate: what is charged for time beyond the last bracket.
Reading it with an example
Say your tariff is 15 min free · 60 min → 50 · 180 min → 80 · daily cap 200.
- A vehicle staying 12 minutes: free.
- 45 minutes: 50 (first bracket).
- 2 hours: 80 (up to 180 minutes, total 80).
- A full day: at most 200 (the cap).
Several tariffs and the active one
You can define separate tariffs for weekdays/weekends, day/night or a campaign. Mark the one to be used at check-out as active; only one tariff is active at a time. Changing the active tariff does not touch past records — every vehicle is charged with the tariff active at its check-out.
Changing the fee by hand
You can override the calculated amount at check-out; if the manager PIN is enabled the PIN is asked, and staff cannot override. Every manual change is written to the audit log and shown separately in the end-of-day report — so the till and the screen always agree.
Common mistakes
- Reading a bracket as an hourly rate: brackets are totals. 60 min → 50, 120 min → 100 means 2 hours cost 100; that is how you express 50 per hour.
- Forgetting the cap: long stays grow unexpectedly. Set a cap, or leave it empty on purpose.
- Creating a new tariff and not activating it: check-outs keep using the old one.
